Baby Boy reimagined. š
šæ This scene—his mom in her tomato garden—has always stayed with me. This is actually my third time reimagining it because, for me, it epitomizes the simplicity of self-care. A woman in a space she cultivated for herself. Surrounded by nature. Enjoying the fruits of what she planted, sitting in her own backyard with a glass of wine. Nothing extravagant. Nothing to prove. Just her, her garden, and a little peace. I will always love the nostalgia of that moment. This time, I wanted to evolve the visual and imagine women across time creating their own versions of that same sanctuary. Growing older. Growing softer. Cultivating beautiful spaces in their own backyards. Sometimes enjoying them alone. Sometimes inviting their girlfriends in. But always having somewhere that feels like theirs. This is another piece of my Black Women Rest series—a reminder to create special places just for you. Nature. Rest. Cultivation. Friendship. A glass of wine. A garden you grew yourself. Sometimes self-care really can be that simple. šæš
