District 12, central historic area of Tehran, Iran

Located within one of Tehran's oldest neighborhoods, surrounded by other Qajar-era houses.  Bahrami House is a historical residential building from the Qajar period, representing traditional Iranian urban architecture in old Tehran with its central courtyard, inward-facing rooms, and simple yet authentic design, the house offers a clear glimpse into everyday life in Tehran over a century ago.  Bahrami House is designed based on introverted Iranian architecture, where the focus is on privacy and inner harmony rather than exterior display.  All rooms open toward a central courtyard, creating a peaceful and protected living environment.

Key architecture features include :  A central courtyard with a small pool, Wooden doors and windows that filter natural light, Seasonal rooms designed for summer and winter living,  A clear separation between private and guesst spaces

Unlike royal palaces, Bahrami House reflects the lifestyle of upper middle class families in old Tehran, making it an authentic and human scal historical home.  Houses like Bahrami House were never just buildings.  Each room belonged to a season, and every corner witnessed family decisions, quiet worries, and moments of joy.

At a time when Tehran had no traffic noise, this courtyard was filed with the sound of water flowing in the pool and slow footsteps across the yard.  More than a house, Bahrami House is a slient keeper of the city's memory.

In this cinematic film, I go deeper into the hidden logic of traditional riads in Fes, Morocco — not just as beautiful historic houses, but as a different philosophy of home. From inward-facing courtyards and filtered light to climate-smart design, layered family life, privacy, water, stillness, and rooftop living, this video explores why riads feel so calm, so intelligent, and so emotionally distinct.

This is more than architecture.

It is a journey into what these homes reveal about life in Fes: the value of inwardness, the shaping of atmosphere, the balance between privacy and hospitality, and the way a house can guide rhythm, dignity, and daily living.

If you love Moroccan architecture, riads, cultural travel, thoughtful design, heritage homes, or the deeper meaning of how people live, this film is for you.

A riad is not just a beautiful old house.

It is a different way of thinking about home.
